What exactly is embossing?
Embossing is simply using some form of a male and female mold in combination with heat, time and pressure to shape a garment in the form of the mold. A backing material will hold this shape in place for the life of the garment. The backing determines the wash-ability of the embossing. Naturally better quality materials help make the embossing last longer. Permaboss.com backing called “Bossback” lasts the life of the garment.

Embossing and debossing leather is rather common, but at Signature Logo Solutions, we offer embossing and debossing of textiles. In this process, a metal die, created from artwork supplied by the customer, is combined with heat, time and pressure to press the artwork design into fabric. Many embossed logos on fabric tended to have poor "washability", but our method of embossing uses a special backing which allows the design to hold its shape for the life of the garment. This process can be done on any fabric that can withstand high temperatures. It looks especially nice on heavier materials such as polar fleece and sweatshirts.
Embossing and debossing on textiles provides a "tone-on-tone" effect that is in high demand by clients seeking subtle, elegant and professional decoration methods to promote their organization. We have found this to be especially popular with businesses on corporate apparel for their employees, as well as a professional means of advertising their company on goods given to their customers.
Embossing and debossing can also be combined with embroidery or screen printing. We have found this option to be popular with schools and sports teams.
Signature Logo Solutions provides contract embossing and debossing services to decorators looking for a different product to offer their customers. For more information about this exciting method of apparel decoration, please contact Nancy Kor here or by phone toll free at 866-808-9659.
